There is nothing more simple than to play bingo, by rules. You don't have to learn anything by heart but simply go through this article once.
You have many different variations, but the overall rules are to get the appropriate pattern on your bingo card, before anyone else. Generally there is a caller to call out numbers which you are then supposed to mark on your bingo card.
The typical bingo card has twenty-five spots in a grid that is 5 by 5. The headings of the columns of the grid printed on bingo cards usually are: B, I, N, G, and O. Each and every column has some random numbers printed there. Generally column B has random selection of five numbers between one and fifteen. The second column i.e. column I consists of numbers falling between the range of sixteen to thirty. Columns N, G, and O follow the same pattern of ranges of numbers i.e. fifteen to thirty, thirty one to forty five and forty six to sixty respectively, with only one free spot in column N.
Irrespective of where you play the general method is spinning the numbers continously and then drawing them one by one. Every time a number is called out you locate it on your card and mark it in some way like crossing it out etc. In accordance with the rules when someone gets the required pattern of numbers on his card, he yells 'bingo' and the game is then over.
The bingo rules are very simply, it is not hard to learn and remember. There could be various different patterns you have to maintain on your bingo card. For instance it may be an 'any line' game, wherein you win as soon as you get the numbers in one line marked on your ticket. The line could be horizontal or vertical or diagonal. At times bingo games can be won only if a specified line is marked. There are some games wherein the winning pattern is limited to the line being horizontal or vertical or diagonal.
Dozens of patterns can be considered as a combination to be achieved by someone to win the game. Some random patterns can be like four corners, blackout, an 'x' etc. Largely the more irregular the winning pattern is the more is the likeliness of you winning a lot.
